This may seem an odd reading to begin with in the midst of Holy Week. Yet this week itself is one of seeking, listening, and hoping to experience a sense of the Holy. I chose this imaginative story as it taps the shoulder of experiences that often evade description - that feeling of awe that occasionally breaks through our defenses, is inexplicable and yet oh so real.
