My Faith

I am a Christian. I am happy in this faith home where I discovered God and where my understanding of God’s Truth evolves – a Truth that is endlessly knowable. Therefore, I don’t feel any competition with the evolution of other’s faith journeys, nor the need to convert them. I choose to follow Jesus who resisted the assertion of doctrine over love. He recognized the complexity of humanity and lived the difficult simplicity of God’s greatest command. A command he was willing to die for. By the grace of Jesus Christ I am learning more every day how to see beyond what I see in the world. I pray to see through the eyes of the eternal Christ. I fail a lot. Yet, in my failure and struggle I find the grace of forgiveness and learn to be merciful to my neighbor.

Scriptures that ground my faith include:

Micah 6:8 What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

John 13:34 [Jesus said], "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

Jeremiah 29:11 When you search for me you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord.
