Remembering...

Remembering the mother of Ahmaud Arbery.

Consider it…
Countless mothers who grieve without children
Those they’ve never had
Those who got lost
Those who have been taken by violence
Countless black mothers grieving the senseless killing of their children.

Take counsel…
Racism thrives
           Injustice permeates our systems
           Apathy is complicit
How long will we maintain an unexamined posture?

Unexamined behavioral and spiritual implications of segregation and racism.
Unexamined insidious attitudes that fill our minds and mouths without our noticing because we don’t stop and listen.
Unexamined because we are not willing to learn from the experience of “the other” with whom we share the breath of life in this world.

 Speak out....
Take account of the long history that bleeds into the present
           Be disturbed
Be a voice for the silenced
           Name the forgotten
           Ask questions
           Learn
Stand up and courageously speak out.

“Thus shall you say to all the Israelites,
'‘Has such a thing ever happened since the day
that the Israelites came up from the land of Egypt until this day?’
Consider it, take counsel, and speak out.”
Judges 19:30

we have always been and always will be in this together.
how shall we consider it?
