Pause
All the people that filled our home over the Thanksgiving holiday are gone. The house is quiet. The turkey soup is made and frozen. Leftovers are, well, what’s left probably needs to be thrown out! The aromas and sounds of Thanksgiving are part of yesterday as the days push me into the Christmas season. The decorating is done, but I want to pause. Pause and linger in the warmth of GivingThanks. So even as the week has passed, this little poster on the refrigerator door lingers as a reminder.
Our home keeps a tradition in November of posting “I am thankful for…” in a prominent place so household members and every guest can take a moment to share. Then I have opportunity to be thank-full all over again as I remember the many hands that contributed their gratitude. So, today I invite you to pause with me for a moment before running headlong into the next season…
Sending you, all you all, loving gratitude for your presence on life’s journey.
I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers.
