A Phone Call

I answered a call the other day from a dear friend who immediately asked, “how are you? I haven’t heard from you in a while and I’ve been missing your blog.” What a gift of grace to be thought of and for those thoughts to be made known.
Her call made me think about why have I have stopped writing here with the faithfulness I began with. A while ago I hit a glitch – a time of full days, circumstances, my own spiraling thoughts. One week went by, then two, and before I knew it I got out of my rhythm and discipline. And it’s so odd because I totally miss my weekly connection with you. While it is my message coming to you, I imagine sitting with you sharing my wonderings, struggles, and joys. And I hope this is a place of invitation to wonder and share for yourselves. When I write, I know I am not alone. And so today I write to let you know I think of you and pray for you. I don’t know all of you that receive this but as a community, companions on the journey, I am grateful for you. My friend reminded me of the importance of community. Community holds us accountable in love ~ not telling what we ‘should’ do, but encouraging us to share our gifts and be our best selves.
Thanks for that phone call, friend. And to all of you, may you be reminded today that you are thought of, you are loved, and your gifts are needed in this world. Pass it on. Is there anyone you need to call or write today?
Therefore encourage one another, and build up
each other, just as you are doing.
